LAKE CHARLES – The Most Reverend Glen John Provost, M.A., D.D., Bishop of Lake Charles, has announced the bestowal of Papal honors to nine members of the laity of the Diocese of Lake Charles by the Holy See. The Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Carlos Maria Viganò, notified the Bishop on Monday, March 30.
The Office of Family Life has during the last six weeks conducted a broad consultation in the Diocese of Lake Charles among faithful and clergy in preparation for the upcoming XIV Ordinary Synod of Bishops, with the theme, “The Vocation and Mission of the Family in the Church and Contemporary World".
LAKE CHARLES – School calendars for the 2015-2016 academic year have been released by the Office of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Lake Charles, according to Kimberlee Gazzolo, superintendent.

In my sixth cycle of parish visitations (September 2014 through March 2015), I had the pleasure of joining parishioners at Our Lady of LaSalette in DeQuincy, St. Lawrence in Raymond, St. Raphael in Iowa and Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Sulphur. The visit offered us the opportunity to get to know each other, hear of their concerns, learn of the many good things going on in the parishes, answer questions, and acquaint them with the ministries of the Diocese.

LAKE CHARLES – Once again this year, the Diocese of Lake Charles will conduct a Vocation Drawing Contest for all students grades two through 12 in preparation for World Day of Prayer for Vocations, set for April 26.
