In a historical moment for the Diocese of Lake Charles, Bishop Glen John Provost ordained one priest and four transitional deacons to service for the local church in Southwest Louisiana during Mass in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception reopened on Saturday, June 29, for the historic ordination of one priest and four transitional deacons. The work on the restoration began last year and the Cathedral had been closed for major interior work since January 2019. Below you will find links to images detailing some of the completed work as well as earlier images of the progress of restoration as provided by Father Rommel Tolentino and others.

ELTON — The Mass of Christian Burial for Deacon John H. Eaves was celebrated Monday, June 24, by The Most Reverend Glen John Provost, Bishop of Lake Charles, in St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial followed in St. Paul Cemetery. Rev. Marshall Boulet was the homilist.
