Information and Announcements About The Diocese

Christmas is a Divine paradox. Someone so small and so humbly born came to achieve something so great, the Redemption of the world.   “A child is born to us, a Son is given to us.”   Often in the face of God’s perfection we are struck by the unimportance of our lives.   And yet we are redeemed by God who empties Himself out as a baby, lying in a manger, born of a humble Virgin.   We are not worthy of so great a gift, but we are never too small or that insignificant to be loved by God.  He shows us that love at Christmas.   May the birth of the Savior ignite our faith.   Come, let us adore Him.   The Catholic faithful join me, Bishop Provost, in offering you our heartfelt prayers for a Blessed Christmas.

St. Francis de Sales lived his life doing seemingly ordinary things in extraordinary ways. This was the means of his sainthood.

In this very same spirit, the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest will establish St. Francis de Sales Oratory in the Diocese of Lake Charles.
