Effective Easter Monday, April 18, Father Jude Brunnert, M.S., will retire from the pastorate of St. Joseph in DeRidder, remaining in the Diocese of Lake Charles, residing at Villa Maria in Lake Charles as a senior priest.

LAKE CHARLES — In union with Pope Francis and thousands of bishops around the world, Bishop Glen John Provost led the faithful of the Diocese of Lake Charles in praying for peace and an end to war between Russia and Ukraine on Friday, March 25. It was that love of welcoming a stranger, the love to care for those far from home that led to what is known today as the Stella Maris Seafarers Center in the Diocese of Lake Charles.
