Announcement from the Office of the Bishop:
Effective Easter Monday, April 18, Father Jude Brunnert, M.S., will retire from the pastorate of St. Joseph in DeRidder, remaining in the Diocese of Lake Charles, residing at Villa Maria in Lake Charles as a senior priest.
Bishop Provost has acknowledged the good work and ministry of Father Brunnert and expressed appreciation for his excellent and faithful service to the Diocese and St. Joseph Parish over these many years.
To provide for the pastoral care of the St. Joseph Parish, the Bishop has appointed Father Edward Richard, M.S., Dean of the West Deanery, as Administrator, with Father Louis Tigga. H.G.N., providing the sacraments in the parish. Father Tigga remains Pastor of Our Lady of LaSalette in DeQuincy, with the assistance of Father Whitney Miller.
Please remember Father Jude Brunnert in your prayers. The new pastor of St. Joseph Parish in DeRidder will be announced at the ordination on Saturday, June 4, with an effective appointment date of Friday, July 1, 2022.
