His Excellency, The Most Reverend Glen John Provost, Bishop of Lake Charles, ordained one man — Reverend Michael Beverung — to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ for the Diocese of Lake Charles on Saturday, May 22, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Bishop Provost's homily from the Ordination Mass follows:

LAKE CHARLES — On Tuesday, May 18, St. Louis Catholic High School awarded degrees to the Class of 2021 during a commencement ceremony in the Burton Coliseum Complex. Mia Touchet is principal of St. Louis Catholic High School, and Blaine Wyninger is assistant principal. The Invocation was given by the Very Rev. Ruben Villarreal, Chaplain; and the Benediction was given by the Rev. Nathan Long, Rector.

LAKE CHARLES — Deacon Michael Beverung is surprised at how comfortable he is giving homilies. He knew it would be something he was going to have to get used to doing, but now says it has been one of his favorite things to do during his final year of seminary studies.

LAKE CHARLES — The Diocese of Lake Charles Office of Catholic Schools is pleased to announce the new principal for Immaculate Conception Cathedral School. The search committee recommended Sister Mary Noel Pereira, RSM, a member of the Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan to Reverend Rommel Tolentino.
