Welcome to the Diocese of Lake Charles

LAKE CHARLES — The Most Reverend Glen John Provost, Bishop of Lake Charles, installed Reverend Rommel Pasion Tolentino as Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Our Lady of Fatima Mission Chapel on Sunday, August 7, 2022.

As part of the Rite of Installation, Father Tolentino, with his hand resting on Sacred Scripture, recited the Oath of Fidelity after leading the congregation in the Profession of Faith. The Rite concluded with the signing of documents by the Bishop and the new Pastor.

Father Tolentino, who was assigned to IHM Parish and Our Lady of Fatima Chapel, effective July 1, 2022, was ordained to the priesthood on May 14, 2005, by Bishop Edward K. Braxton. He previously served as Pastor of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception from 2014-2022. Other past assignments include his role as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church (2005-2008), and Pastor of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hackberry and Our Lady of the Assumption Mission Chapel in Johnson Bayou (2008-2014).

Following the Mass, a welcome reception for Father Tolentino was held in Immaculate Heart of Mary Founders’ Hall. View more photos on the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lake Charles Facebook page. (Photography by Morris LeBleu / Diocese of Lake Charles)
