Welcome to the Diocese of Lake Charles

The Diocese of Lake Charles is coordinating three public meetings to inform those whose family graves (Catholic, private, and public) were damaged by Hurricanes Laura and/or Delta of available funding. The Louisiana Cemetery Task Force and FEMA will be in attendance to explain the FEMA funding process.

The public is invited and pastors, family members, representatives of cemeteries, memorial and burial service businesses are encouraged to attend. Please choose the time and location most convenient to you. The Diocese of Lake Charles is grateful for the assistance of Attorney General Jeff Landry, Chairman Ryan Seidemann, and the Louisiana Cemetery Task Force. There will be time set aside for questions and answers.

If you have a cemetery in which bodies were disturbed or moved, please attend the meeting and please bring the following:

1) cemetery maps with the name of the church and cemetery on it
2) physical address of the cemetery
3) your name and contact number (cell phone) to assist in this process

Attendees to the following meetings should register in advance for “funeral assistance” by calling FEMA at 800-621-3362, visiting www.disasterassistance.gov, or using the FEMA Mobile App.
