The Louisiana Life March Southwest, with the theme Every Life is Worth Living and set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, pushes off at the Veterans Memorial Park on Lakeshore Drive. The March will move through the streets of the city to the Calcasieu Parish Courthouse on Ryan Street.
Amber Sims, a Conceived in Sexual Assault Advocate and this year’s keynote speaker, will gently and lovingly talk about issues such as compassion for the mother in crisis and the stigmas surrounding children conceived in rape. By doing so, she hopes to help inspire others to think differently about the rape exception and encourage more men and women to speak out against all forms of assault to make this world a safer place for current and future generations.
