School calendars for the 2024-2025 term for Catholic schools located in the Diocese of Lake Charles have been announced by the Office of Catholic Schools, Kimberlee Gazzolo, Superintendent.
The five Catholic schools in the Diocese of Lake Charles, in Calcasieu Parish, will begin the school year with the return of students on Monday, August 12, while students at Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School in Jennings will transition back to classes over several days with grades 1-8 returning on Wednesday, August 7. Classes for students.in kindergarten, pre-k 3 and pre-k4 will start on Wednesday, August 14. The final day of school for students in Calcasieu Parish Catholic schools is Friday, May 23, 2025, while OLI’s final day is Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
Catholic schools include St. Louis Catholic High School, Immaculate Conception Cathedral School, St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School, and Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic School, all in Lake Charles, and Our Lady’s Catholic School in Sulphur. Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School is in Jefferson Davis Parish.
Holidays for Catholic school students include:
- September 2 - Labor Day
- November 1 – All Saints Day
- November 25-29 – Thanksgiving
- December 23 to January 3 – Christmas Break
- January 20 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- March 3-7 – Mardi Gras holiday
- April 18-25 – Easter Break
Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School students have no classes on Friday, October 4 - Fair Day.
