Area schools in the Diocese of Lake Charles recently announced Students of the Year for 2021-2022.
- St. Louis Catholic High School: Genesis Bass, daughter of Gregory and Loretta Bass of Lake Charles.
- Immaculate Conception Cathedral School: Grade 8 — Caroline Hankins, daughter of Michael and Kari Hankins; and Grade 5 — Matthew Devall, son of Matthew and Katie Devall. All are of Lake Charles.
- Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School: Grade 8 — Kenzie Marshall, daughter of Chad and Dana Marshall of Jennings; and Grade 5 — Abram Powell, son of Casey and Erin Powell of Welsh.
- St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School: Grade 8 — Matthew Landry, son of Albert and LaTecha Landry of Iowa; and Grade 5 — Cullen Clanton, son of Owen and Erin Clanton of Lake Charles.
- Our Lady’s Catholic School: Grade 8 — Isabella Richard, daughter of Tim and Tracy Richard; Grade 5 — Landry Taylor, son of Daniel and Jana Taylor. All are of Sulphur.
