Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I write to all of you from the Diocese of Lake Charles. We have seen the destruction and experienced the wind and water.
As I prayed this morning, I remembered all of you in my prayers. Psalm 57 of the Church’s morning prayer began with these words: “In the shadow of your wings I take refuge til the storms of destruction pass by”. God is a loving Father. He seeks our trust.
I remain with you under God’s protective care. Catholic Charities will soon reach out to the community. All of you will be present to me as I celebrate Mass today and in the future. God protect and strengthen you for the task ahead! May He grant recovery to the injured and eternal rest to the deceased.
