LAKE CHARLES – Based on the analysis of the results of the 2009 Full Audit of the Diocese of Lake Charles, the diocese has been found to be in compliance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, approved by the U.S. bishops in 2002.

Bishop Glen John Provost was informed of the finding in a letter from William A. Gavin, head of The Gavin Group, Inc., which is the company that conducts independent audits of dioceses across the country.

According to the correspondence, “the conclusions reached as to the compliance of the diocese with the Charter were based on the completeness and accuracy of the information furnished by the Diocese to the auditor during the course of the audit.”
