The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception reopened on Saturday, June 29, for the historic ordination of one priest and four transitional deacons. The work on the restoration began last year and the Cathedral had been closed for major interior work since January 2019. ELTON — The Mass of Christian Burial for Deacon John H. Eaves was celebrated Monday, June 24, by The Most Reverend Glen John Provost, Bishop of Lake Charles, in St. Paul Catholic Church.  Burial followed in St. Paul Cemetery.  Rev. Marshall Boulet was the homilist.
