The Most Reverend Glen J. Provost was ordained a Bishop and installed as the Third Bishop of the Diocese of Lake Charles before a standing room only crowd in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, April 23. The new bishop was consecrated by the Most Reverend Alfred C. Hughes, Archbishop of New Orleans with The Most Reverend Jude Speyrer, Bishop-emeritus of Lake Charles, and the Most Reverend Michael Jarrell, Bishop of Lafayette serving as co-consecrators.

The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, was represented by the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, The Most Reverend Pietro Sambi, who read the Papal Bull, the mandate from the Pope appointing Bishop Provost to the office of bishop.
